![]() ![]() Just wanted to offer another perspective on the benefits of upgrading! Overall the mixer is noticeably sturdier, and I appreciate that I can fit the mixer under a cabinet (or the pendant lights above my kitchen island) because I don't have to worry about tilting the head up or down. Now that I've got the professional one, I worry way less about putting large doughs in it, and for non-dough things I love that I can put an ice bath under the lift bowl to keep things cool while I'm mixing. For things like cakes and icings it was great, but the whole machine would jump up and down if I put a bread dough in with the hook. I had the artisan tilt version for several years, and used my mom's old-school tilt-head KitchenAid for many years before that, and the motor struggled with many of my bread doughs. I'm not a professional, but I bake a lot of bread and have mobility issues in my hands so I rely on a stand mixer for kneading (though tbh I'd probably use the mixer regardless).
